Meet Our Pastor & First Lady
First, I would like to thank God for allowing me to serve under the Great Shepherd Himself. “Nothing is impossible if you trust in God.” As a young boy coming up in the red hills of Martinsville, Virginia, I learned at a young age the importance of putting God first. I am both humbled and grateful to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who saved me to serve Him. God’s calling to be a pastor is a great privilege. Not in my wildest dreams would I have thought His vineyard work was preparing me for such a profound duty.
I am pastor of Clifton Grove Baptist Church and happily married to Peggy W. Eggleston (beautiful partner and helper) since April 1987 and have two wonderful children: Dr. La Tonya Renee (Eggleston) Hairston (Dr. of Pharmacology) – Suwanee Georgia, and Chandler Justice Eggleston – Master of Administration / Community Heath – Chicago, Illinois. In church work, I am passionate about ministry and outreach, spiritual relations, spiritual formation and inter-faith relations.
“The test of a preacher is that his congregation goes away saying, not what a wonderful sermon, but “I will do something.” It is my goal to continue testing the congregation.
